I have a cheap adapter bought from an electronics shop. It has several voltage steps, 5V being one of them.
I think it has a maximum charge current of 900mA.

In this thread I read that the Sony charger has a maximum charge of 2A.
Amazon sells one of 1A.

So, I would like to ask the following:
1. Would 900mA be enough, or am I risking to burn the adapter?
2. If 1A is enough, why would Sony sell a 2A charger?
3. Has anyone ever measured the current when charging by adapter?

I think I'm going to try the adapter all the same. I just need to wait for the battery level to go down. There's no risk to the reader, as I'll use 5V, which is lower than specified.
