I agree. Unfortunately, in the US the minimum legal driving age is much younger.

14 1/4: South Dakota
15: Idaho, Montana
15 1/2: Mississippi, New Mexico, South Carolina
16 1/2: Indiana
16 1/4: Maryland, Virginia
16 1/3: Connecticut
16 1/2: Delaware, D.C., Kentucky, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island
17: New Jersey
16: All other states
