Hi
I did like to see the progress of my bookmark when i read a book, specially when it was a thick one, so i also faced what i wouldn't say is a problem, but one of those little experiences that ebooks don't yet offer. So i started calculating and comparing the text in the page of my PRS 505 edition of some book with the paper book i had too. Since most of my paper books are paperback editions this rule doesn't apply to other book formats, but i would say that roughly a page in my sony reader is equal to 1/3 of the paper book page, so i visualize more or less where i would be if i was reading the actual paper edition.
I also noted the number of pages that i can read per hour and the number checks with the 1/3 proportion i calculated before, that is the number of pages i turn in an hour is 3 times the one i get when i read the paper edition.
So for any paper book i get i use this rule to calculate the ebook size, and vice versa.
