when you get your driver's license here, no matter how old you are, you'll get a starter driver's license. Which means that if you break the law by speeding, drinking alcohol, ignoring save driving distances, or anything else that is just plain dangerous driving, you get a point. And after 3 points, you'll have to get your driver's license again. A bit like the English system (which I adore, by the way) but a bit less strict and only for the first 5 years

We have the same system, but we have a 2 year limit. Which I think is very good actually. It's sheer stupidity to let the majority of 18 year old guys get behind the wheel of a car. Before they enforced that rule, the worst traffic offenders where new male driver between 18 and 20.
But then, we have a TV-show here that translates to "Swedens worst drivers" that makes you scared to even go out on the roads after watching it.
