thermal experiences - bug or feature?

Yesterday was the second time having a "thermal" Problem (?) with my DR1000.

The reader lay in a mix from shadow and sun. The reader was off. The reader itself within his protective cover was heaten up a little bit - hand warm.

Then I wanted to read - but the reader did not start. No chance, even with reset, etc. pp. Later at home, when the reader was cooled down - everything worked fine again.

I said - this was the second time: the first was a few weeks ago, when the reader lay at top of my PC, heaten up the same way - hand warm - and did not start up until it was colled down.

Have anyone had the the same experience yet and - the biggest question - is this a bug or a feature protecting the device?
