If I get an OK from RWood, who is the original author of this thread, I am going to redo it to make it more general for all reader devices.

I have never tried using a memory card with my Sony Reader, even though I have a couple of 1GB SD cards and also one 4GB card. It seems for me the capacity of the internal memory is just enough, and I like the fact that I can save battery life by not using external memory.
