errrr, not true, Harry. I've looked at 5-6 e-ink devices recently (lessee, Sony 500, 505, 300, 600), and a Kindle and a Kindle 2. Even though they are all e-ink displays, they are NOT "exactly the same. In fact,each one looked different than all the others in some aspect (background, blackness, sharpness, contrast). The 300 has the whitest/sharpest display I've seen, with the 505 not far behind and and Kindle 2 not bad. The 600 and 500 had the lowest contrast/sharpness.

The e-ink displays in various devices are not exactly the same, not by a long shot.
