There's the rub
I have a 505, which broke and is currently in the shop. The tech said that, based on the part that is broken, a repair will cost ~$50 using existing parts, and more than the price of a new reader if he needs to order new parts. So my first choice is that my existing 505 get repaired, and I'll happily use that, and maybe buy a 600 next year some time if I like it.
But assuming my 505 costs more to repair than it is worth, my options are another 505 or the 600.
