Citing one ebook store isn't very scientific... what about WHSmith:
  • EPUB: 14,069
  • PDF: 74,010
  • MOBI: 28,242
  • LIT: 28,688
Waterstones only has 13,551 ebooks. Most libraries with an ebook collection have the majority in PDF.
