Great work. I did a check-database-integity call (I know its advanced but well ..) it failed. I propose to replace the path with ~
Here is the error I got:

Obvious isn't it
(running Ubuntu 9.04 uptodate)
nota bene: dropping the database & reinstall did not do the job
