"Umlaut" is a very cool word (like "ramekin" and "galangal"). I think I'll put it on The List.

Our main fridge is a Fisher and Paykel. This one, actually, or one very much like it:

It's okay. I can't remember why we bought it, as we were not fond of F&P's attempts at anything other than washing machines at the time (work had a fridge and dishwasher made by them, and they were both crap). It's been fine though, with only one minor problem where the icemaker stopped making ice, which turned out to be a faulty part in our model which F&P were only replacing if it happened to break. Fortunately ours did so during the warranty period.

We won't be replacing our existing F&P oven with another. Twice I've asked them for support on it, and twice they've just ignored me (after confirming receipt of my emails). Fark 'em if they're not interested in support. I'll buy a Smeg instead (probably - they've always been good to us).

Cheers,
Marc
