those are all words i learned when i travelled around the netherlands lo these many years ago. sneeksnits, if memory serves, was the name of a town we stopped in, and i thought it was a funny word so i wrote it down. as for that other phrase, it was graffitied in a train, and i thought it was hilarious so i wrote *it* down as well. (i'm just guessing it means "oh dear ! this trains wobbling around !") i can usually tell the difference between german and dutch ; dutch seems to me to be somewhere in between german and english (although, i should say, i know very little german, even at the time i knew the most) and i found it pretty easy to understand a lot of basic stuff (brood kaas for instance was quite obvious to me without even thinking about it.
