As for American football- yep, simple, just like pshrynk said. It all boils down to: bunch of over-steroided men dress up in padding, go out on the field to throw a dead pig around and jump on each other like a pile of leaves, just to experience the sheer prohibited pleasure of slapping each other on the ass when all is said and done.

I think most sports involving a bunch of men/women divided into two teams, chasing somekind of (usually) roundish-shaped object makes no sense what so ever, no matter what label you put on it.
Time to invent som new sports me think!
