I'm still reading Saul Bellow's Collected Stories, though with more steam in the boiler now. I've just finished the story, The Old System, which was remarkably pleasurable. I'm tempted to read it again, even before finishing the book (I won't, but I'm tempted). The more stories I read (and one can't help but grow enamoured of some of the characters - Sorella from The Bellarosa Collection is easy to admire, and desire to be "real"), the more I am enjoying Saul Bellow's writing. I'm glad I started with the short stories...it gives me confidence in heading towards the books he is better known for.

Cheers,
Marc
