I had to introduce computers to my first graders in a computer lab, which we had once a week. The first thing I told them was that the computer was just a machine and not any smarter than they were. I then went on to explain how computers are able to do what they do. The kids were fascinated . . . for all of 30 seconds!
They were more interested in what kind of games they were going to get to play.
