Looks like the new Sony software will simplify the e-library access as part of the Library software.

In any case, you STILL NEED A LOCAL LIBRARY CARD to borrow e-books from ANY Sony Reader. These libraries have limited copies of e-books available, and are funded by LOCAL taxes. Nobody is getting nationwide free access to a ton of online libraries. Just easier access to your LOCAL libraries.
That's still great for me! I'm the library queen since I have access to a few libraries including NYPL and I'm not paying a thing for them. I have cousins all over the states and they are avid readers. They check out library books all the time. I hipped them to the ebook craze and they in turn share their library card number and pin with me! NYPL is not even in my top 3 of favorites, they add new books very slowly, Brooklyn and Denver are the best in adding books less then 2 weeks after release, with NYPL you could wait for at 60 days sometimes before they add popular fictions!
