Depends on the weather. In winter, one or two per day. In summer, three or four per day.

Our government wants people to conserve water so they sent everyone a 4 minute egg timer to stick in the shower. I can often keep to that time. But I have to admit that to save water I also flush the toilet only once per day. (Maybe we should have a poll on how often we flush).

The government aim is to keep usage to under 155 litres per day per person. My water supplier actually congratulated me on using only 94 litres per day.

I was brought up in fairly poor circumstances. Water for the bath had to be heated by burning wood and we could only afford enough wood to heat one bathful of water for the whole family, once per week. First in was my father, then my mother, then my sister, then finally me. By the time I got in the bath the water was cold and dirty. So - now that I'm all grown up and live alone, I really treasure the luxury of a clean, hot shower whenever I want it.
