Keep in mind, your Adobe ID is sort of like the "password" to the ebook. If you install ADE and authorize it to a different account you would be able to read that ebook. It "may" work if you re-download it from the store with the newly authorized ADE, but the store may not allow that. This is because it would look like you are trying to use the same purchase with two Adobe ID's and that is basically a violation of the one ID/user for the book.

I first downloaded the ebook on my desktop. I installed ADE and opened the book on the desktop. However, I didn't authorize the computer. Then I was thinking I could just copy the .acsm link that I downloaded from the bookstore onto my flash drive and open the ebook on my laptop. So that's exactly what I did. But, after I downloaded ADE on my laptop--I kept on getting "error getting license" every time I tried to open the ebook. But then I authorized the laptop ADE. I still get the same "error getting license" message. Then I authorized the desktop ADE--so both ADE were synchronized. That was still bad because the desktop allowed me to read it, but the laptop didn't.

Then, as I've been emailing the bookstore, I've installed and reinstalled ADE on both machines about 20 times. BUT yes, both ADE's were authorized. But during one of the re-installations of ADE on the desktop, I did something that canceled the viewing of the ebook.

I've emailed the ebook store and I've got a fresh download coming tomorrow. Therefore, I will uninstall my desktop ADE and try it again. I have a feeling I'm going to start back at square 1 though.
