These are some great ideas and there are probably more when considering "print to PDF" printer drivers/programs in Windows or native support in many modern Linux distributions. Perhaps PDFing Google Maps itineraries if you don't have a GPS.
I'd like to offer a couple of caution statements, though. First, don't put anything too sensitive such as SSAN, credit card #s, passwords, etc., on your reader to avoid problems should it be stolen/lost. The second caution is to not rely 100% on it, just in case Mr. Murphy locks it up badly at the most inopportune moment. I experienced this last night when trying to charge it, eventually requiring several additional hours charging and a few resets to get it working right again.
