When I was a kid Croatia was then Yugoslavia and we had a vacation trip there just like yours where the camper broke down. It was a fan belt or something similar. Dad took a pair of stockings from mother to act as a belt and it worked for a few kilometers, then he'd take an other pair and so and so. To get to the only repair center we went through all of her stockings. That was 42 years ago. Those are the memories that last as a kid.
