I have a Sony Reader and don't format shift, so I am still unable to purchase.
I was just about to suggest the same thing as tselling. Smashwords offers the variety of formats (although, I think ePub is a format that can be used across a lot of devices).
We have quite a few authors on this site (many with publishers other than Amazon). Also, many members are very, very knowledgeable and experienced in ebook creation/format shifting.
Just ask and I'm sure many members would be more than willing to help or offer tips and techniques to make the conversion process easier for you.
