Not true. I have had my Jetbook since October of 2008, I have yet to buy a book for it. I have been taking advantage of Project Gutenburg, feed books, Manybooks.net and Baen's free books. I do plan on buying some books eventually, but at the moment, I have definitely saved money on the books I would have bought otherwise.
Now if you insist on reading only new books, well, then it does take a while to make up the difference in price.
