i must try that perspective the next time i'm faced with an impossible quiz. of course, that will send my contrary and obstinate drive to Solve The Puzzle (strength proportional to the difficulty of the puzzle...) into intense cognitive dissonance and may result in the explosion of (what remains of) my brain. but hey, after that, i should be able to leave it alone with much less reluctance.
