And, in my opinion, firmware updates are a privilege, not a right. They sold the device advertising a certain featureset. These features were present from the start. Anything on top of that is a bonus. And yes, I'm aware there are and were bugs in the firmware- but at least in my case, I was well aware of the extent of these bugs when buying the Cybook from several reviews I read, including these forums.

Having said that, of course I'd like to get the update myself rather sooner than later.

My understanding is that the firmware is complete, and they updated several Cybooks at some conference last week. Did they use those people as beta testers, or did they install a ready to release firmware update? If it is ready, why are they not making it public?
