This cover is almost square! The addition of the retractable light and battery compartment adds a LOT of space in the part of the cover that equates to the spine of a book.

You know pking36330, my first thought when I saw that cover was "yuck! no way do I want a cover that big!" I kept looking at the picture and comparing it to the lightwedge cover I have for the PRS-505 and decided it's virturally the same case. That black spine with the light attached looks exactly like the battery compartment and the attachment point for the wedge. It looks like they just sawed off the clear part of the wedge, made a channel in the attachment point to hold the flexible neck of the lamp, and the lamp itself will store in the empty area below the attachment area and the bottom of the case.
The lightwedge case makes the 505 overall wider, thicker, and heavier but not much longer. It seems the new lighted case will be similar in dimensions, but of course I can't tell because I didn't see any dimensions for the new case. I know they can't use a lightwedge cover for the 600 - can't touch the screen if it's covered, but I wonder why they didn't use the lightwedge design for the 300. I absolutely LOVE my lightwedge cover for the 505, so I'll have to give the new lighted cover some consideration. I'll have to wait until I can see one, I guess.
Thanks, Lev for posting the page. Thanks DaleDe for letting me know the sleeve is neoprene.
