Then your thread title "OS X Does not see my 505" is misleading... apparently OS X is "seeing" it just fine. The problem you are having is with what? ADE? If so, it is known that ADE will not recognize the reader on a Mac.

When Sony releases the Mac version of the eBook Library software this should be resolved. We are all expecting it to be released August 25th with the new reader models.

that said, I'm not sure why you loose cover images, the ebook is a single file and no matter what you use to copy it to your reader you should see the same results.
