If it is mobi format and there is no DRM (copy protection) it is Kindle compatible. If there is DRM it is not Kindle compatible, unless you are 'creative'.
To load a DRM-free mobi book onto your Kindle is simple. First, you download it to your PC/Mac. Then connect your Kindle to the machine using your USB cable. Now open up your file explorer. On Windows, hold down the window key (near the space bar) and type E to get the file explorer. Navigate to the file you downloaded and copy it. Now navigate to your Kindle. It should look like an external drive or a flash drive named Kindle. Open the kindle and open its documents folder. Paste the copied book to that folder. Safely disconnect your Kindle and you are done.
