I could not find the command line tools, so I tried to upgrade, but that did not help.

1. I downloaded 0.6.6. (On a MAC OS X 10.5.8.)
2. I uncompressed and copied the Application from the DMG into my Applications/Utilities directory.
3. I ran the Calibre application. It shows the list of Books I had imported previously.
4. I open a console and list the contents of my /usr/bin directory, grepping for links related to Calibre:

NOTICE: There are many fewer entries in this directory than there are links in /usr/bin. Where are the missing programs, like html2lrf and html2epub? What list of files should I see there? Are some of the links left over from previous versions of Calibre and obsolete?
