George Washington Ogden was an oldtime newspaperman (born 1871) who has written westerns (Whiskey Trail, Windy Range, etc.) and whose verse was once reprinted in the old Literary Digest.I couldn't find out more about him.

The Flockmaster of Poison Creek is about the age old war between cattle and sheep farmers and the even older war between the sexes!
