"I think it would be great if content creators could sell their own work directly... I'm not going to steal books OR music, if there's a way to pay the content creators through the only channels they currently get paid through."
If you feel strongly about this, and I commend you sincerely if you do, you can always find the author's email address and paypal them some money. It's simple, and if they've already set up the account, automatic. You will most likely be sending them much more than they would be normally receiving, and I would feel even better that my money isn't also supporting unjustified greed and a broken institution founded on power.
