I find the silver finish of the Sony Reader 505 disappear completely when I read - more so than with the other ebook readers I've owned. It feels much less distracting than the black bezel I've experienced with a Cybook and Hanlin V3. The e-ink screen is ever-so-slightly tiny bit more grey, but overall my experience is that the silver colour of the device blends very well with the screen - and reflects less light than the screen itself.
I have been looking at photos of the new Sony 600 - and while I
love that red, I would probably still prefer a silver device simply because it is the least obtrusive colour IMHO.
