Now, if I could just find a black and white striped shirt and a beret, my life would be perfect. Don't you just love stereotypes.
that's so funny !! a friend of mine and i were talking one day about stereotypes in films, and we were laughing that if you want to show that a character is french, you just give him a striped shirt !! it must be some kind of official uniform, because all french are wearing striped shirts every day, in cinema-land, apparently !

But if I say to people: I want a liseuse, they'll look at me as if I'd been crazy. So, I'll just don't give it a name and just say I read books, and say that I'll read it electronically if they keep asking.
if it helps, if i say to people "i like to read on my liseuse", they'll also look at me as if i'm crazy. so then i explain what is (like an ipod but for books...) then they understand. but i have to teach them all what is a liseuse, first. of course, now all my friends know. i should go stand on a streetcorner somewhere and shout about it to everyone passing by.

That's French for you...
it's true, a lot of french speak fast. (not so much in the south, though. you understand, all those extra vowels takes time to pronounce. )
