For your fifth points, I think that the one who do market error are you not bookeen..

Allowing to make clones always come to the original maker to diseapear or nearly. IBM made the first IBM-PC, they allow other to make clones, looks now, they are not the company who sell the most PC. Apple try the same approch at some time, but they need to stop the emoragy or they will no more exist now. Selling only hardware is not a good approch, and Microsoft is the only exception. Look at Be In. they died. The only other PC OS that work currently other than Windows is Linux, and it's only because Linux is free (of charge, not necessarily because it's open source, even if it's one of the reason)

So By looking what the Computer history give us, I don't see why bookeen will only sell their software (that is not only software application, but system software too since we are on the embedded market, where you have to control the software AND the hardware)

And since Bookeen will surely not stay with the EB600, and I hope will use their own hardware design (the Opus is one first example) Making software for other device where the software is crap and their sells are too marginal. No it's really not a good business plan
