Hey Folks,
I'm new here, and new to readers in general. I don't have one yet, but I've settled on Sony's 505, when the cash becomes available... I had Kindle 2 Fever up until a couple weeks ago when Amazon pulled the books without warning.
The news of new models from Sony is exciting, but disappointing to me. I was hoping to see a next-gen 505 model, but neither of these seem like a good candidate for that.
The 300 seems like it could be a really great starter, but I'm put off by it's lack of memory slot and it's size. I like the idea of being able to expand when I want, I think the 6" screen is a solid idea.
Unless the 600's screen is capacitive touch, like the iPhone, it's not something I want. When I was playing around with the 700 at my local Sony Style store, I found the effort involved was more than I wanted (I'm spoiled by my iPhone really.) I'd prefer buttons...
I want to echo yvanleterrible's remarks in that I would like buttons on the back of the device, it seems like it makes more sense. While I was playing with the 505, I found that I wished I had something on the back to hold it with. Bracing between the brace of my thumb and the bulging security connector, I found was more comfortable to hold than just the thin profile of the reader (It's tough to test such when that big security lock is there anyway)
Anyway, The high point of this news for me is that it means when these things come out I can (hopefully) pick up a 505 on the cheap.
