I think it makes perfect sense that the new 5 inch entry level device has a lower model number. It is a good indication of what should be expected from that model, and may help to prevent any confusion.
I also see the PRS 600 as being a device that combines the features of the 505 and 700, so that kind of makes sense too. The price may also fall somewhere between the current 505 and 700 pricing. Maybe there will be a 705 model at some point, for those who want an integrated book light.
I believe we will eventually see a larger screen device with a higher model number, such as 900. Possibly on October 1st? With an entry level 5 inch, an intermediate 6 inch, and a large screen reader in the PRS family, Sony will have all their bases covered.
