I don't know if Sony will win, but either way I hope they stay in the business of selling ebook devices. They are the only one on your list fbrII, that appears to let you store your library locally and not lock the consumer into one format.

Even though Sony lacks content like the big name stores, in my opinion, they've been doing a good job in letting the buyer obtain content from other avenues. As a consumer, that's what I'm looking for in an ebook device. If only more businesses opened up their format for Sony.

It would've been nice if the big book stores like Amazon and B&N stayed in the business of selling books and not hardware. Let Sony and other hardware companies duel it out and Amazon and B&N could just sell ebooks that support the devices. In my opinion that would've been nice. A vast library of ebooks that isn't locked to any particular device.
