OK, I have some pictures taken of the "before" and I'm going to start spraying it today. I'll give a step-by-step guide for disassembly in case anyone else wants to try it... probably will post the whole lot of pictures later today.
On the plus side, the battery could be easily changed out simply by getting the case opened (4 screws). I wonder if anyone sells it, hmm...
