Excuse me, Sweetpea, but I was speaking about my comparison of the Sony to the Kindle, not Xiaopanda's pics of the EZ Reader and Kindle. I guess I wasn't clear enough. Sorry.

My guess is that the contrast on any reader with a touch screen is lower than one without. No doubt the contrast was better on the Sony than the Kindle, and I saw those up close and personal.
