I have joined the ranks of the blue 505s. - Now what?

I got my 505 in last night, and loving it.

First up, what font sizes do you guys prefer? The books from Sony are just plain too big. Even on Pride and Prejudice's smallest setting, it is too big for my tastes. The default for calibre with the 505, with 5 pixel margins, and believe size 10 base font is still a hair too big (I keep it on the smallest setting still), but much better.

I've heard some say there is a performance difference between epub and lrf. Any comments?

Also, is there any way to speed up calibre's performance on converting? I have a bunch of Lit, OEBZip, RTF, and HTML books I've made, or got from various sites over the years (I still love the large amount of free ebooks available), but it just seems so long to convert them. I'm used to clit, which takes a second or two, for what calibre does in two minutes.
