I'm not sure if it's the same in the UK, but in the US (at least around here) blood donation companies are separate entities. The nice thing about this place is you know that your blood is being used locally. They supply only the local hospitals. Although I'd still probably do it if I didn't know, but it's nice knowing you're supporting your community.
