I like to think they just grew up. I was one of the "ignored" in high school. Basically, I barely said a word to anyone about anything until I got into college. After that, they couldn't shut me up. However, I realized at some point that, since I never spoke to any of them, there wasn't much incentive for them to speak to me. It's the proverbial two way street.

He was (is) one of the nicest, most decent people I ever knew. He said he wanted to live in an old Victorian house in SF and be an artist, and now, he lives in an old Victorian house in SF and he's an artist. I love it when people I like realize their dreams.
