I was 14 and there was no problem staying up for it. Actually, it was a Sunday night, Vivaldirules, but with school out and our family on vacation anyway, no one much cared about bedtime. Watching it on our 12-inch black and white GE television (of course, the camera they had on the moon was B&W, so that didn't really matter), with my uncle saying over and over again, "You know, this is costing us a million dollars a minute!" If he had been alive when the Berlin Wall was torn down, he probably would only have cared about how much it was going to cost to clean up that mess.
