my readers as the time went:
- PC and CRT screen
- an old, very old notebook - 286 with 2MB RAM, without
harddisk - I just booted from a flopy with "reader" SW and
book on it. Grayscale display 640x480
- a slightly better notebook. Color screen 800x600, harddisk,
enough memory to install [a very, very minimalistic] Linux
distro
- the ultimate reading notebook - Toshiba Libretto
- Cassiopeia A-11. A pathetic device (for a PDA),
but I never looked back to notebooks.
Black & White 480x240 LCD display
- Cassiopeia A-20 very big display - (for a PDA ;-)
B&W 640x240 LCD display
very low price on second-hand market, so I am
not afraid to toss it into a backpack.
Recently I am looking at the falling dollar (or strenghtening of my domestic currency). Very soon I might be able to purchase Sony Reader. It is complicated, however, because I live in central Europe. Fortunately a friend of mine is visiting USA and is able to bring one for me.
