€0.706 on petrol
€0.4185 on diesel

I believe the diesel tax is lower to help the transport industry.

Red Diesel (which we also have and doesn't have the fuel tax) leaves a red fuel tank. If you get caught using it in a regular car, you can pay all the missing taxes and a huge fine...
