The light is handy. You find that while it goes dimmer at the centre its unavoidable in the design and that it doesn't affect the readability. And you find that the light comes into its own when you need it most when its too bright its a nuisance but when its just not quite enough light to read the leds light the screen just right.
Having looked at the 505 and 700 there is a difference but not enough to really matter and the light makes up for it. And being able to use the touchscreen to navigate on pdfs is handy. I've found some images translate better than others. But I read textbooks where the images are already monochrome half the time.
