the links above show a methodology based on
a page-by-page rendering of the book, since it
is the engine used for a proofreading interface.
(the text is displayed alongside its image-scan.)
another methodology would split the book into
chapters, and render each of them individually.
or, of course, the whole book can be one file.
i'm not even sure which of those stark choices
is the one that handheld owners would prefer,
although i assume the whole-book one is best.
