If you create a library entry with either of those ISBNs (though I've not yet encountered one that doesn't corrupt), then click download cover, you should get one that corrupts
That said, like I said, it also happens when I import a local jpg file through calibre. Putting a cover.jpg file into the directory manually works fine. If I then create a book using that cover image, nothing else corrupts, so whatever it is that goes wrong happens during the saving of the imported file.
