Minis are expensive, but they depreciate much more slowly than most other small cars, so their actual "lifetime cost" is pretty low. Eg, my last Mini I bought for £12,500, owned for three years, and then sold for £8,500, so over the three years I owned it it only actually cost me £4,000, or £1,333 a year, which I think personally is pretty good!
