They're unable to provide DRMed support for both formats, but they CAN easily do it without! I'd just want nonDRM support for both formats on my device.

No, they're not, but they're doing it for there own good - they need it on newly sold devices to stay in competition, but it's nice that all customers get it for free.
BTW: I'd be more then willing to PAY (look closely Bookeen) for features I want/need! E.g. reflowable PDF, nonDRM ePub and definable button support.

Mobi has never been great for german books... Me, I read mostly english books (though I'm Austrian) and therefor really like the dictionary function, but I wouldn't need it for any german book. And support for english books is stll great.
But the real problem is as always DRM!!!
