Will Sony add some basic metadata editing tools to their Reader software? I still love my PRS500 despite lack of ePub but the Sony Reader software has always been the Achilles heel. It's just an ugly, clunky app.
And as for Sony supporting Linux - I wouldn't hold my breath. I can't think of any major consumer electronics companies supporting desktop Linux applications, for good reason. Sony has limited development resources. The Linux installed base on the desktop is too small (~1%), and even that installed base is highly fragmented. The moment they support one flavor of Linux (say Ubuntu), they'll be asked for Debian, Red Hat, Suse etc. Linux is a no-win situation for Sony...and this is coming from someone who uses Linux every day.
